Eola Hills' Pinot Noir #1 in Sales for Portland, OR
(Rickreall, Oregon) According to the Neilsen industry
report for retail wine sales in Portland, the number one selling Pinot Noir
through June 2005 was produced by Eola Hills Wine Cellars in Rickreall, Oregon.
This continues a streak that had Eola Hills as the leader for the year 2004.
Just 20 minutes west of Salem and 30 minutes north of Corvallis, Eola Hills
Wine Cellars is in the heart of prime Oregon wine country. They've been winning
awards for years and manage to produce quality wines while keeping them
affordable to wine enthusiasts. In 2002, Wine & Spirits Magazine recognized
Eola Hills as one of the top 20 producers in the nation of "wines of great
value".
"With over 250 wineries in Oregon, it's quite an accomplishment
for us to have reached this mark. It says a lot for our hard working employees,
distributors and retailers," offered Eola Hills' business manager Eric Rogers.
"It also says a lot about the support of our customers. They've been growing in
numbers and we have a lot to thank them for, considering their many choices".
Some of the results can be attributed to the "Oregon Education
Assistance Fund" program established by the winery, whereby a percentage of
sales go towards school funding. Additional success emanates from the winery
itself where they're very enthusiastic about their events. Eola Hill's "Sunday
Brunch in the Cellar", "Sports Road Trips", and "Bike Oregon Wine Country"
events cater to people who want to experience Oregon in a unique way. Their
"Corksniffer" wine club allows wine lovers across America to "taste" Oregon as
well.
"We like to say that making friends is as important as making
wine, and is turns out, we get to enjoy both with a good deal of satisfaction,
" added winery Founder and President, Tom Huggins.
Upcoming events
include the 3rd Annual Oregon Education Assistance Fund Golf Tournament which
has helped raised over $40,000 for Oregon schools. For more on Eola Hills wines
