6/10/10 TCU & Other Trips Update: The last few days have been interesting ones for Beaver fans, have they not?? We have had a new team added to the Pac-10...Colorado if you haven't heard...and it appears that as many as 5 more may be added in the next few days...Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State...all I can say is WOW...if this all comes to pass! Also, it has just been announced that USC will receive severe sanctions from the NCAA making them ineligible for post Season Bowls for the next 2 years. And I'm sure you've all the heard the news out of Eugene!.......Interesting times!!!! On to our trips..... Many have asked about the hotel we will be staying in for the TCU Trip. An announcement on that will be made in the next month. We now have lots people signed up for this one, and I want to make sure we have a hotel that can accommodate the entire group...not just with great rooms, but with great facilities for our receptions, and close proximity to all levels of dining options and activities! With all of our outbound flights departing early in the morning, you may want to consider staying near PDX the night before. We still have the deal with Shilo which includes free parking, breakfast, and shuttle to the airport. Their # is 1-800-222-2244 if you wanted to make reservations! And speaking of flights, I just received info on a change in times for all the outbound flights out of Portland. All the 8:20AM flights are now scheduled for 8:50AM. The 6:30AM flight on the 31st has been changed to 6:05AM. We have lots of people arriving on the 31st alone, but we still have room for a few more on any of the optional departure dates...the 31st, 1st, 2nd, or the 3rd....but only a few, so if you are still thinking about joining us, please call or email ASAP! With regard to game tickets, I need to hear from you by next Wed, the 16th if you are interested in upgrading your ticket from the yellow section...see stadium seating map. You can upgrade to purple for an extra $25 or blue for an extra $75, and the Suites are now sold out. TCU Seating Map: http://www.osubeavers.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/beavers-at-tcu-football-map.html Future Trips Boise State...9/25...my flight commitments are due in 2 weeks, and ticket requests in one week, so if you are interested. $499/$599 for 1 & 2 nights incl. game tickets! Broncos are pre-Season #2 in the Nation! Washington....10/16....have had a pretty good response on this one already. Interest in this game is obviously up among Husky Nation as I have had a very difficult time in getting sideline seats. So very likely, we will only have room for some 20 more..please call or email ASAP if interested! Roundtrip AMTRAK, pre-game, tailgater, Cruise, and deluxe accommodations at the Roosevelt Hotel right downtown...$499 for 2 nights/$599 for 3 .incl. game tickets! Still time to ponder on the other trips...Arizona, UCLA, and Stanford...but immediate action is necessary if you want to go the Boise game, and space is limited for the Husky game. Have about 150 tickets for the Civil War game this year, which is on Dec 4 at Reser. We will host the 26th annual Civil War Brunch here at Eola Hills prior to that game and run busses to Reser for the game. $40 for the Brunch, $125 for the Bus and Brunch, and $199 for everything including the ticket! Looking ahead, mark your calendars for Friday, Aug 13, and plan to join us here at the Winery in Rickreall for Burgers with the Beavs. More details later, but we'll have a great line-up of Coaches to join us and talk about the upcoming Season!
4/21/10 TCU Trip Update (See details below…..) Some new info on this trip that I wanted to get out before I depart the Country (volcano permitting) on Saturday. And remember, you can contact Rich Washburn here at Eola Hills if he can be of assistance in my absence. Phone is 503-623-2405 and email is rich-washburn@eolahillswinery.com. Trip details , including flight info and itinerary, can be found at www.eolahillswinery.com/beavers. As I said in an earlier email, my group space on the “outbound” flight at 8:20AM on the 31st is completely full. This is also true of the “return” flight on the 5th at 12:20PM. I also said in my last email that I would be adding a flight on the 30th on SWA…..decided not to do this! I later found a second “non-stop” flight on American on the 31st departing PDX at 6:30AM. I have 52 seats on this flight…..over 10 have already been spoken for, so have about 40 left. So in essence, there is still availability on each day, from the 31st to the 3rd. There are only about 10-15 seats left on the 8:20AM departure on the 1st, but I have a second “non-stop” flight that day in case the first one fills. When I blocked 300+ seats on various “non-stop” flights over a month ago, I had no idea we might end up using them all, but now in hindsight, I should have reserved more and that’s why I’m adding now where we can. With regard to “return” flights, as I mentioned, we have filled the 80+ seats I’d blocked on the 12:20PM departure on the 5th, but we still have plenty of seats on the 9:15AM and the 4:30PM departures that day, as well as the 12:20PM departure on the 6th, which is the Labor Day holiday, for those wanting to stay over an extra night! The Cowboy Stadium Suite has now filled, so I reserved a second one by the first that I’m taking reservations for now….the cost is $250 per person for this option….it includes food and beverages and is very, very plush!! Any questions…..I can be reached till Friday here at the winery (or Saturday via cell 503-932-5821). After that….. Rich is “point man” on all this until I return on May 12. And a big reminder, my flight guarantees are due May 30, so if you are still thinking about joining us on this trip, you have about a month to lock in the package we are offering and join us in Texas….. We can add you after that, but no guarantees the price may not be higher! ________________________________________ 4/12/10 TCU Trip Update (See details below…..) Just thought I send out a status report on Eola Hills’ TCU Trip. My last email went out just over a week ago, and already it looks like the 5 nighter is the length of choice for most of you. And most of you are wanting to return on the 12:20PM departure on the 5th. Anticipating this, those are the 2 flights (the 8:20AM departure on Aug 31, and the 12:20PM return on Sep 5) that I reserved the most space on…..but it looks like both will sell out, so if either or both of those are the ones you are interested in and you haven’t signed up yet, don’t wait to long! We have about 130 officially signed up as of today, but many, many more that had expressed interest in earlier emails have yet to email me their flight preferences. I may have to tweak the times on some of the scheduled tours now as we have just learned the Dallas Cowboys may be playing their final pre-Season game on Thursday, the 2nd against Miami. If this is the case, we may have to move up our tour of the Stadium to 10AM on Wednesday as they don’t offer tours after noon of the day previous to Cowboy games. We’d then do the Kennedy tour in the afternoon that day. Regarding the Suite at Cowboy Stadium, there appears to be at least enough interest in doing a 50 person Suite, which also includes 12 standing room tickets (62 total). There are about 45 signed up for the Suite as of today. I will get another smaller 18 or 25 person Suite if this first one fills up and looks like there will be enough for a second one! The additional cost for this option is $250 pp and includes food and drink at the game as well! I have budgeted $75 in the package for game tickets, but I have just heard….unofficially…that there will be upgrades available at $100 and $150 for tickets. When I find out more info on this, I will send out another email on the location of the $75 tickets, as well as the higher priced ones. You will have a chance to upgrade your ticket to a better location in the Stadium or buy a spot in our Suite. Some of you have asked about hotel Suite upgrades too. There are 1 and 2 BR Suites available…..please call or email me for details and pricing if you are interested in these hotel upgrades. Stay tuned for further updates……looking forward to a great trip! (see my contact info below...) ________________________________________ Posted 4/2/10... | |
Eola Hills’ OSU vs. TCU Football Trip…
It’s finally official….The Beavers will open the 2010 Season at 6:45pm, on Sep 4th in a game nationally televised by ESPN against Texas Christian (TCU finished 6th in the AP Poll). The game will be played in the new billion dollar home of the Dallas Cowboys which we will tour…that’s in Arlington, Texas, between Dallas and Fort Worth. Eola Hills has reserved over 300 spots on “non-stop” American Airlines flights with “departures” from PDX on Aug 31, Sep 1, 2, and 3 and “returns” from Dallas on Sep 5 and 6, which is Labor Day. So, basically, we will have 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 night options on this one. I have decided to make this trip all inclusive with regard to tours, activities, and game tickets……by that I mean…..the tours and activities that we are setting up each day will be included in the price of the package…..as will the game tickets (and I'm told they'll be $80-$90).
