Our Syrah is a beautiful ruby red.  The nose is warm with vanilla and dark juicy fruit with a touch of earthiness.  The flavors are of rich blackberries, currants, dried cherries and a touch of vanilla spice to round out the finish.  This wine is ready for you to drink tonight.

**The Columbia Gorge AVA has Champenoise style Chardonnay & Pinot Noir in its western reaches and high mountain sites, to Syrah and Cabernet in its eastern portion. The Columbia Gorge viticulture brings a distinctive taste, balance and vibrancy to a wide range of classic varietals. The Columbia Gorge is a national treasure and the Columbia Gorge AVA allows the wines of this treasure to be identified, on the wine labels made from its grapes. The fun will be experiencing the wines made from various varietals at varying locations along this three dimensional, transitional zone, between the worlds of northwestern Oregon and eastern Washington.

Winemaker’s Description:
Dark ruby in color with flavors of black cherry, cola, nut and oak that meld on the palate. A blend of the best barrels of wine from the vineyards I feel produced the highest quality grapes for the year’s harvest. Pinot Noir is the Noble red grape of Burgundy, capable of ripening in a cooler climate, which Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot will not reliably do. It is unpredictable and difficult both to grow and to vinify, but results in some of the finest reds in the world. We are situated in a natural weather shadow of the Coast Range, which shunts storms from the Pacific Ocean north to Portland and south below Salem in the Willamette Valley, the Eola Hills vineyards are protected from weather extremes. Yet in summer, a gorge carved by ancient glaciers draws in maritime air to provide ideal cooling for sensitive varietals in those warmer months. This provides us with what we feel is the best area to produce Pinot Noir.

Our newest vintage is "delightfully young " says our vineyard Manager, Jim Huggins.  Flavors include strawberries, bing cherries and cranberries.  It is light bodied but with plenty to offer.  Vanilla and strong tannins make up the finish on this #1 selling Pinot Noir.

New Vintage as of 1-11-12
Bergamot scented Braeburn apples, or Asian pear, comes to Steve Anderson's mind immediately when asked to describe this Pinot Gris. It has a smooth body and a lengthy finish and yet refreshing. Light with a clean tart finish. This Pinot Gris was made exclusively from grapes grown in the Willamette Valley.

Wolf Hill vineyard, truly our estate vineyard located in the Eola-Amity Hills, has shown it's potential with the pinot noir and has come of age with the chardonnay. We practice "L.I.V.E*, which is : Low input sustainable agriculture in the vineyard with a minimum of chemical input, relying more on biodiversity and mechanical practices. Clones 76, 96 and 352 went into this delicious wine. Wolf Hill, our true estate vineyard, is located in the Eola-Amity Hills.
This wine shows flavors of pears, apples and lemon.  The finish is light with a touch of oak.  Nice balance between fruit, acidity, and oak.

This Chardonnay is a "true Oregon Appellation" experience. We source the best chardonnay grapes for this wonderful "blend of Oregon appellations". The nose opens up clean and refreshing.  The middle has Asian Pears and Plantains. The finish is light and smokey. This vintage is lighter on the oak finish than the 2005 vintage.  If you ask Eric (our operations manager), he thinks this is one of the BEST LaCreole Chardonnay's that Steve has made today!  Try it for yourself. Enjoy with a variety of Chicken and Pork dishes.

New Vintage as of 1/7/2012

The tropical fruits and pear flavors of this Chardonnay coupled with a subtle crisp finish make this a surprisingly diverse wine. Enjoy this Chardonnay with grilled or lightly smoked fish or poultry. - More tasting notes to follow.

Our head winemaker, Steve Anderson, chose the best barrels of wine for this delicious Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon.  First he decided on Applegate and Columbia Valley as the regions for the origin of the grapes this time around.  Then he aged the wine for about 29 months in French and American Oak.  Then he blended the wine together from the best barrels.  The aroma reminds me of chocolate covered blueberries.  The flavors consist of cocoa powder, dark chocolate and blueberries.  This wine is medium bodied, medium alcohol level with nice smooth tannins to round out the finish.  Our Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon needs to be decanted so open it, wait a few hours then enjoy!   Save this for a rainy day in a few years and it will be even more delicious.

This could possibly be our best Merlot to date. Flavors include black berries,sweet cherries, rosemary blossoms, dark fruit, roasted coffee beans, and dark chocolate that just melts on the tongue.
This Merlot really packs a punch. It was aged in Hungarian Oak for over 27 months. This really brings out a vanilla bean spiciness that will definitely get your attention.

2009 was a stellar year for our Merlot.  The flavors of the plums and spice really explode on this vintage.  The tannins are not over the top but just perfect. 
Selected grapes grown in the Applegate and Columbia Valleys produced this high quality Merlot. This wine is perfect for your dinner tonight.

New Vintage as of 1/29/12 - Boysenberries, raspberries, herbaceous, and black pepper in the nose.  Flavors include vine berries, boysenberries and tart strawberries.  Our assistant winemaker, Steve Richards, enjoys this one so much he feels it is one of the best vintages to date.    It is going through a normal process called "bottle shock" that will mellow out with time.  Check back soon for more tasting notes.

The vines we are using are about 76 + years old from Lodi, California! They tend to have fewer clusters of grapes with smaller berry size, yielding more intense sugars, color and concentration of flavors, producing wines that are generally better balanced with more body and structure. The agricultural history of the Mohr's and Fry's extends back to the 1850's, when Bruce Fry's great-great-grandfather on Jerry's mother's side, Cornelius Mohr, left his job on a whaling ship in the port of San Francisco and began a farming operation on a Spanish land grant near what later became Hayward (Alameda County).

Nice bright fruit nose with a rich chewy finish. Definitely not your typical Zinfandel at all. Most Zinfandels concentrate on the fruit, not this one - it has sweet cherry on the nose, a touch of rose petal as well, then the middle wraps you in a warmth that keeps you coming back for more.  Try this one today!
It is rotary-fermented to extract soft rich tannins, and was barrel-aged in older American Oak for one year. This rich Zinfandel makes a great companion for roasts, grilled game and turkey. Try it with smoked orange marinated duck with a chanterelles and sage.

Our newest vintage is succulent and rich. Deep, dark purple inky color leads way to loads of blueberries and sweet cherries with a vanilla, cinnamon spice finish.

Sauvignon Blanc is a white wine known for its intense, aromatic character and flavors, which range from distinctly herbal and vegetal to grapey and melon-like. Our Sauvignon Blanc has a nose of unripe pineapples. The  middle has grapefruit and tropical fruits and a finish that reminds us of carmelized pineapple.

A blend of easy drinking white grapes - Mostly Early Muscat, Riesling, Chardonnay, and many more..
Kind of sweet  with a crisp, clean finish; the nose is full of apricot, pear, and other tropical fruit.

We are pleased to announce our newest member! This is an off-dry wine that explodes in the glass.  It is very aromatic with a nice spicy finish.

The nose opens up with candied walnuts and dried currants. Delicious tart but sweet cherries explode in the mouth.  The finish is warming and lingers FOREVER! This vintage is lower in alcohol - only 17% compared to the '04 having 21% - and it works perfectly. This vintage was aged in Oak barrels for 5+ years.  Delicious again!

Pressed from late harvest frozen Gewurztraminer grapes, our "Vin d Epice" is unctuous, honeyed and spicy on the palate with flavors reminiscent of apricots and guavas. While the wine is very sweet, the firm acidity keeps it from being cloying. Yummy, Yummy and more Yummy!

Pressed from late-harvest, frozen Sauvignon Blanc grapes and barrel fermented in new French Oak, our Vin d’ Or exudes aromas of vanilla, honey and pineapple.
