Featuring our new emerging label style, initially only on Oregon Pinot Noir & Pinot Gris bottles.

Cranberries, strawberries and ripe cherries come to mind at first sip. We just bottled this delicious wine during the early part of September 2013. This is medium bodied with a hint of sweet oak on the finish. We have rolled out a new label for the new vintage. This is going to be another great hit from Oregon.

The right vines, rich soil, and proper climate are the basis for our excellence. The French call it "terroir (ter-war)". We call it OREGON!

Rasberry Dessert Wine Raspberry "Vin d' Ete" Dessert Wine
$25.00  NV-98705

Ripe Oregon raspberries are crushed and then inoculated. During fermentation, spirits are added to stop the fermentation much like the process of Port. This results in a wine which is simply the essence of raspberries. The perfume explodes, the initial flavor is powerful and the finish is incredible!

Cabernet Sauvignon Port 2011 Reserve LBV Cabernet Port

Made in the traditional Late Bottled Vintage fashion - LBV - this sweet red wine dessert wine was aged 6 years in an Oak Barrel.  Think dark chocolate, brandy, and cabernet sauvignon all mixed together.  We did not actually use chocolate in the wine it just tastes like it.  This is perfect for the fire, a date or even a hot tub. pinot-gris-reserve-108x190.jpg 2014 Reserve “La Creole” Pinot Gris
$15.00  110107

This is a delicious change from typical Pinot Gris.  Instead of just aging in stainless steel tanks we fermented and aged our Reserve Gris in Acacia barrels from South of France.  This wine starts like a Pinot Gris but finishes kind of like a Chardonnay.  The best of both worlds.  We used the most mature fruit from our “Wolf Hill” estate vineyard for this reserve wine.

Try this with Smoked Salmon or Smoked Halibut.

Syrah 2008 Classic Syrah

The fruit for this vintage is sourced from Columbia Valley from the Oregon side -
**see my notes below.

Our Syrah is a beautiful ruby red.  The nose is warm with vanilla and dark juicy fruit with a touch of earthiness.  The flavors are of rich blackberries, currants, dried cherries and a touch of vanilla spice to round out the finish.  This wine is ready for you to drink tonight.

**11/09 - National Geographic Traveler - Ranks 133 Top Destinations in World, Columbia Gorge Region named near top of list! In a 5-way tie for 6th place in the world (and the top rated destination in the West), the wineries of the region are a major draw for the region!
**The Columbia Gorge AVA has Champenoise style Chardonnay & Pinot Noir in its western reaches and high mountain sites, to Syrah and Cabernet in its eastern portion. The Columbia Gorge viticulture brings a distinctive taste, balance and vibrancy to a wide range of classic varietals. The Columbia Gorge is a national treasure and the Columbia Gorge AVA allows the wines of this treasure to be identified, on the wine labels made from its grapes. The fun will be experiencing the wines made from various varietals at varying locations along this three dimensional, transitional zone, between the worlds of northwestern Oregon and eastern Washington.

Lodi Zinfandel 2011 Lodi "Classic" Zinfandel

Nice bright fruit nose with a rich chewy finish. Definitely not your typical Zinfandel at all. Most Zinfandels concentrate on the fruit, not this one - it has sweet cherry on the nose, a touch of rose petal as well, then the middle wraps you in a warmth that keeps you coming back for more.  Try this one today!
It is rotary-fermented to extract soft rich tannins, and was barrel-aged in older American Oak for one year. This rich Zinfandel makes a great companion for roasts, grilled game and turkey. Try it with smoked orange marinated duck with a chanterelles and sage.

2010 Reserve Lodi Sangiovese

We source our fruit from the Mohr Fry Ranches** out of Lodi, California.  The initial nose is full of berries and leather.   Flavors include cranberries, strawberries and cinnamon spice.  A tasting room favorite!

**The agricultural history of the Mohrs and Frys extends back to the 1850s, when 5th generation Bruce Fry's great-great-grandfather on Jerry's mother's side, Cornelius Mohr, left his job on a whaling ship in the port of San Francisco and began a farming operation on a Spanish land grant in Mt. Eden near what later became Hayward. Cornelius' son, William Mohr, continued farming diversified row crops including tomatoes, sugar beets, wheat, and experimenting in horticulture breeding iris. Before his untimely death, William Mohr became known around the world for his pioneering research in iris hybridization.

Pinot Noir 2013 Reserve Pinot Noir “Wolf Hill Clone 667” Willamette Valley Oregon

New 2014 Vinetage coming November 2016) Our Winemaker, Steve Anderson, can truly say this wine is a fine example of hedonism: single estate vineyard (Wolf Hill), single clone (dijon clone 667), single rootstock, and single cooper (Demptos A.O. MT+ TH). A wine that quantitatively and qualitatively bursts with intensity and length, dark red fruit in the nose and palate, and an equally intense amount of balanced tannins, that provide pleasure to those who like intense, and those who simply like, quality wine. Balance is the key that opens the door to greatness!

zinfandel_lodi_reserve_blue_cl_sg_sm_w108_h191.jpg 2012 Reserve Lodi "Old Vine" Zinfandel

The vines we are using are 75 and 100 years old from Lodi, California. They tend to have fewer clusters of grapes with smaller berry size, yielding more intense sugars, color and concentration of flavors, producing wines that are generally better balanced with more body and structure. The agricultural history of the Mohr's and Fry's extends back to the 1850's, when Bruce Fry's great-great-grandfather on Jerry's mother's side, Cornelius Mohr, left his job on a whaling ship in the port of San Francisco and began a farming operation on a Spanish land grant near what later became Hayward (Alameda County).

cabernet_sauvignon_reserve_lacreole_sm_108x190.jpg 2012 Reserve La Creole Cabernet Sauvignon

Our head winemaker, Steve Anderson, chose the best barrels of wine for this delicious Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon.  First he decided on Applegate and Columbia Valley as the regions for the origin of the grapes this time around.  Then he aged the wine for about 29 months in French and American Oak.  Then he blended the wine together from the best barrels.  The aroma reminds me of chocolate covered blueberries.  The flavors consist of cocoa powder, dark chocolate and blueberries.  This wine is medium bodied, medium alcohol level with nice smooth tannins to round out the finish.  Our Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon needs to be decanted so open it, wait a few hours then enjoy!   Save this for a rainy day in a few years and it will be even more delicious.
